MPEG-I Scene Description supports multiple extensions for advanced visual and audio presentations, significantly enriching immersive experiences. Visual extensions such as MPEG_texture_video enable video textures to be seamlessly integrated into 3D scenes, allowing dynamic content such as live video feeds to become integral parts of the immersive environment.
Audio experiences are equally enhanced through the MPEG_audio_spatial extension, which introduces spatial audio support, including object-based and HOA (Higher Order Ambisonics) audio sources. This extension significantly improves realism, ensuring that audio playback accurately matches the viewer's perspective and movements within a scene.
Figure 3 shows an example of the spatial audio rendering process, demonstrating how audio sources and listeners interact within a virtual space to deliver accurate spatial audio reproduction.
